This session highlights how communities are leading school-centered transformation through cross-sector partnerships that support cradle-to-career success. In Cincinnati, Adelyn Stroup, Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Community Learning Center Institute (CLCI), will share how the city’s Community Learning Centers serve as hubs for education, health, and family support. She will highlight the School-Centered Neighborhood Development (SCND) Playbook, which connects school-centered strategies to broader neighborhood revitalization, as well as provide a framework for scaling integrated community school models statewide. Dr. Adriana Chavarín-López, Co-Founder and CEO of Sabbaticalize, and Dr. Michael Vea, Partner, School Design at Transcend, will share the origin story of the Logan Memorial Educational Campus in San Diego, a TK-12 campus born from decades of community advocacy and designed to integrate early learning, wellness, and shared civic spaces. They will also reflect on key challenges and barriers to sustainability. Together, they will offer insights on building equitable, community-led ecosystems that nurture thriving students and neighborhoods.
