ARIEL BIERBAUM, MCP, PhD

Ariel Bierbaum is an associate professor of urban studies and planning at the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation At the University of Maryland, she is also an affiliate faculty member of the National Center for Smart Growth and the Maryland Transportation Institute. She serves as a lecturer at the University of Pennsylania’s Graduate School of Education in the Mid-Career Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. Her cross-disciplinary research connects the fields of urban studies, planning, and public education to better understand how to build just places that repairs harm for historically marginalized youth and families.
