SARAH BRASHEAR

Sarah is celebrating her 9th year working in public education. In her current role, she oversees the development of annual and long-term enrollment projections, analyzes enrollment trends to inform budget development and facilities planning, and develops enrollment policies with a lens towards equity. Sarah also works on planning to open new schools, including DC’s first new neighborhood high school in 50 years, which opened in 2021, and a new neighborhood middle school DCPS will open in 2028. 

A native Texan, Sarah started her career as a high school English teacher in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in Houston. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Texas (Hook ‘em!) and a Masters in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
