Garet joined the staff of Multnomah County Chair Vega Pederson in the spring of 2024 as a Senior Policy Advisor focusing on infrastructure. After being raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and living for a decade in Richmond, Virginia, he moved to Oregon in 2018. He holds a MURP from Virginia Commonwealth University. As a first-generation college graduate, he has pursued a career path to discover “what he wants to be when he grows up,” working as a policy analyst, urban planner, community organizer, K-12 teacher, construction worker, cook, and spot welder.
