Karen Summerville leads B&D’s Communications and Public Engagement practice group, guiding a team that helps clients build meaningful connections with their communities. She has managed communications and engagement strategies for more than $4 billion in capital programs and planning initiatives nationwide, offering expertise in strategic communications, brand management, media relations, social media, and large-scale public engagement. Karen brings over a decade of nonprofit outreach and program development experience, along with a background in graphic design. She earned a BS in Fine Arts–Graphic Design from Morgan State University and studied in the University of Baltimore’s Integrated Design MFA program.
