Sara Hinkley leads CC+S work on education workforce housing and California school facilities. She was previously a lead researcher at the UC Berkeley Labor Center and associate director of the UC Berkeley Institute for Research on Labor and Employment. Her extensive background includes academic and applied research on labor, workforce and economic development policies, education workforce issues, low-wage workers, technology in government, and public finance.
Sara served as a school board member for Albany Unified School District from 2018-2022. She teaches and supervises students in UC Berkeley’s Department of City and Regional Planning. She holds a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in regional planning from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
