Shannon Jaax is the Founder of Jaax Street Partners, a community development and school planning practice dedicated to helping public schools, their students and communities thrive. Shannon previously served as the Director of Planning & Real Estate for Kansas City Public Schools, where she designed and led the Repurposing Initiative, a nationally recognized, community-driven effort to repurpose more than 30 closed school sites. She also serves as an adjunct professor in the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) Architecture, Urban Planning and Design (AUPD) Program and is a former Peace Corps Volunteer. Shannon received a Master of Planning degree from the University of Southern California and a BSBA in International Business and Finance from American University, Washington DC.
